Tensioning The Blade
The blade tensioner is factory-set so proper blade tension is achieved when the rubber spring is
compressed 3/16” (4.8 mm). An indicator bolt is provided to indicate when the rubber spring has
been compressed properly. To tension the blade, turn the blade tension handle up until it locks in
place.
WARNING!
Use both hands to operate the blade tensioner handle. Failure to fol-
low this may result in injury.

Use the scalloped disk to turn the tensioner shaft.
See Figure 2-1.

Tension the blade.
3.
Recheck the alignment of the rubber spring washer with the indicator bolt head.
4.
Check the blade tension occasionally when adjusting the cant control or while cutting.
As the blade and belts heat up and stretch, the blade tension will change.
5.
Adjust the tensioner shaft as necessary to maintain proper blade tension.

Tracking The Blade
1.
Make sure the blade housing covers are closed and all persons are clear of the blade.
2.
Start the motor/engine for a moment until the blade positions itself on the wheels.
WARNING!
Do not spin the blade wheels by hand. Spinning the blade
wheels by hand may result in serious injury.
