The available modulation mode is
indicated. Information that it has the V.34
capability is exchanged. The procedure
is then switched to V.34 in Phase 2.
After information about the modem
capability is exchanged, the receiver
determines the modulating speed
according to the received probing signal
which the transmitter sends.
To determine the image transmission
speed, the transmitter sends a training
signal.
The training signal is sent according to
the determined parameter, then the
image data is sent.
The pre-fax transmission, which is the
same as the normal T.30, is performed at
1200 bps.
The optimum image transmission speed
is determined, according to the training
signal received.
The post-fax transmission, which is the
same as the normal T.30, is performed at
1200 bps.
