p) Para una fumigación aceptable, el interior de la cabina y el filtro absoluto de impulsión,
deben ser expuestos al formaldehido por un período suficiente para asegurar la inactivación
de los microorganismos que hayan penetrado en el filtro. Éste periodo de tiempo deberá
ser igual o superior a 6 horas. Se recomienda realizar la fumigación durante la noche.
q) Incluso después de este tratamiento, los filtros HEPA deberían solamente considerarse
como “seguros para manipular utilizando ropa protectora apropiada” y no como estériles, y
deberían tratarse en autoclave o incinerarse después de ser retirados. Después de la
fumigación, los sellos de la cabina deberían retirarse y el ventilador de evacuación hacerse
funcionar durante un periodo suficiente para eliminar el vapor de formaldehido residual
antes de utilizar la cabina o efectuar su mantenimiento.

authorities. For example, by using a suitable neutralisation system or temporary ducts to
extract the exhaust fumes into the exterior. Suitable protective respiratory equipment
designed for being used with formaldehyde should be available during fumigation in case of
an emergency.
s) Once the process has finished, switch off the equipment in the same way, through the
control panel.
