18. TEST PATTERN TOOL
This tool is used to display the test pattern to check that the parts and the LCD module are securely connected after replacement, removal
or disassembly of the I/F PWB, the C-PWB, the LVDS cable, and the LCD module.
18-1. OPERATING CONDITIONS OF TEST
PATTERN TOOL
The operating conditions of the test pattern tool of the information
display are as follows.

- RS-232C port which is recognized as COM
port (with communication speed: 9600,
19200, 38400bps)
- LAN(100 BASE-TX / 10BASE-TX)

When connected to the information display
with a LAN cable
Connect the monitor and the PC by the cross cable or the straight
cable through the hub. When the monitor and the PC is connected
directly by the cross cable, the settings for the monitor and the PC
needs to be done.
When the monitor is connected to the network, ask your system
administrator about how to set the PC for connecting the monitor.

This tool cannot be operated correctly when the monitor is in the
power waiting state or the signal waiting state. In this case, send
the input signal to the monitor or set the power management to
OFF.
18-2. BOOTING PROCEDURES OF THE TEST
PATTERN TOOL
Press [Test Pattern] button of the service tool launcher, and the
following message is displayed.
For connection of the jig, refer to the following.
Refer to page 4 - 35 "18. FLICKER ADJUSTMENT TOOL".
18-3. TEST PATTERN METHOD
GUI OF THE TEST PATTERN TOOL
The test procedures by use of the test pattern tool are as follows:
1 ) Press [Connection Setting] button and perform the
communication setting.
2 ) When [UP] or [DOWN] button is pressed, the pattern is
changed in the sequence shown below.
3 ) When [EXIT] button is pressed, the tool is terminated. To
cancel the display pattern, turn OFF the main power.
*1 With only the B model, the holding [POWER] button function is
effective.
