replication is complete, the data on the previous source volume will be consistent. If the volume is set
to destination replication mode then it will not be visible in iSCSI initiator.
Function: Mirror server IP fig 3.2.1d
Here you can set the IP address of the mirror server. It needs to be entered in order to define volume
replication task.
Setting the IP address on the destination server is for security reason. This will allow only granted IP
address to send data to destination target.
The
WAN
option gives you the possibility of replicating over Internet. Please perform the following steps
to set up this kind of replication:
on Router 1 redirect ports 12000-13999 and 40000 to Server 1
on Router 2 redirect ports 12000-13999 and 40000 to Server 2
on Server 1, tick the WAN box and enter a unique combination of 6 to 12 characters in the
ReplicationID field [allowed characters: a-z A-Z 0-9]
on Server 2, tick the WAN box and enter the same ReplicationID as on Server 1
on Server 1, enter the IP address for Router 2 in the Mirror server IP field
on Server 2, enter the IP address for Router 1 in the Mirror server IP field
replication should now succeed over WAN
Function: Create new volume replication task fig 3.2.1d
This function allows you to create a volume replication task. Replication creates the same copy of data
from source volume to destination volume in real time. This means that if you for example create a file
on source volume then the same file will be created on the destination volume. Destination and source
volumes need to be the same size in order to successfully made replication of volume. Replication can
be made only between two mirror replication servers.
Please note this function allows you to only create replication tasks. In order to enable them, use the
Replication Task Manager.
