Section 3 Menu Functions
Include resyncing/recovering progress
This enables informing about progress of resync/rebuild, if it's currently running. E-mail will be send for
every 20 % done.
Include array status
Information about the status of event-related array will be added every event.
Function: Drive Identifier fig 3.1.5c
This function helps you locate specific disks in your Galaxy NAS LX5 disk array. If you connect hard
drives through a hardware RAID controller then this function will not work and you may need to use
alternatives like S.M.A.R.T. or the hardware RAID management tool (depends on manufacturer of
RAID controller).
When you click on the "start" button then the appropriate disk will start reading and you can determine
which disk is it by watching "disk-activity LEDs". For proper operation of this function there should be no
other activity on hard drives.
Note: Identification will stop automatically after one minute if you will not stop it before (by
unsetting appropriate checkbox and applying form). Using this function during normal operation is not
recommended and will cause your server to slow down.
After clicking on “MD0” in the left hand pane a tree with the available software RAID units will be
displayed.
Function: Manager fig 3.1.5d
In this function you can manage the S/W RAID array.
