Section 3 Menu Functions
3.1 Galaxy NAS LX5 GUI Functions
On the following pages, we will describe every function of the Galaxy NAS LX5 GUI. The functions are
divided by menu options, which are located at the top part of each GUI screen.
3.1.0 SETUP Menu Functions
This menu allows you to manage network interfaces, administrator settings, hardware RAID controllers,
create disk array using software RAID, Fibre Channel, iSCSI initiator, hardware and GUI settings.
3.1.1 Setup “network Interfaces” Menu Functions
The menu shows a tree containing network interfaces. Click on the Interface name to see more
information about selected interface. See fig 3.1.1a
Function: Server name fig 3.1.1b
Server name
: enter a server name to clearly identify your server. The default name installed is:
galaxynas
Comment:
please enter a short description of your server.
Server Name and Comment rules:
Please make sure the server name is unique in your network.
Select a server name that clearly identifies your new server.
Please do not use spaces and special characters like:~!@#$^&()+ []{}*;:'".,%|<>?/\=`_
Server Name can not consist of digits only.
Comment is not displayed in some systems.
