7.10.1 VCU Port Settings
Serial port: Select the serial port for connection with the VCU.
COM ports that are not available appear grey.
Setting options: COM 1 ‐ 6
Default: COM 1
When using the VCU Modem control you must select the COM port of the modem. Otherwise the
modem will not dial! Change the VCU COM port accordingly.
Baud rate: A baud is the unit of signalling rate ( 1 Bd=1 s) i.e. a measure of signal
changes that take place in a transmission channel during one second.
Default setting: 57600 baud
7.10.2 Remote Terminal Port Settings
Serial port: The second serial port is used for remote control through Nokia
Communicator or another PC. A modem must be connected to this
port!
Value range: COM 1 ‐ 6
Default: COM 2

Nokia 9300i Communicator supports only a single baud rate, i.e. 9600
baud.
Baud rate options: 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600
Default setting: 9600 baud
7.10.3 Remote Terminal Control
Remote terminal active: When this function is enabled, Greenkeeper picks up calls from Nokia
9300i Communicator or another PC. Remote Control through Nokia
Communicator is only possible when this function has been enabled.
Init string: This is used to send commands to the modem.
Do not change these settings.
Max inactivity time (s): If Greenkeeper does not receive any data from Remote Control within
the period of time entered, the connection will be terminated.
Value range: 100 ‐ 1200 seconds
Default: 600 seconds
