DISPLAY AND METER OPTIONS
Instrumentation Menu > Oscilloscope
Choosing the
Oscilloscope
menu allows you to monitor a wide variety of patch points from various patchpoints
with Omnia.7’s built-in digital oscilloscope.
The
Category, Patch Point,
and
Audio Channel
sub-menus are used to select the specific source audio. The specific
patch points will change depending upon the category. Categories include
I/O, Undo, Physical Inputs, Sidechains,
Multiband,
and
Monitor Out.
♦
The
I/O
category offers the following patch points:
¸
Program Input
is the unprocessed audio as it comes into Omnia.7’s inputs.
¸
Loudness Matched A/B
is also unprocessed input audio, but level matched to make A/B comparisons
easier.
¸
Digital Output
will show you the Left or Right channel processed audio output.
♦
The
Undo
category includes patch points for
Pre-Declipper, Post-Declipper,
and
Undo Output.
The left
or right channel can be selected for each patch point.
♦
The
Physical Inputs
category allows the signal present at Omnia.7’s rear panel inputs to be monitored.
The left and right channels of both the
Analog
and
Digital
inputs are available. The patch points are
especially valuable when using the NfRemote client software to stream audio back from Omnia.7 in
situations where there is insufficient bandwidth to stream their un-decoded counterparts.
♦
The
Sidechains
category includes patch points for the
AGC Sidechain, WB AGC 1 Sidechain, WB AGC 2
Sidechain, AGC Output Audio, WB AGC 1 Audio,
and
WB AGC 2 Audio.
¸
The
Input AGC Sidechain, Wideband AGC 1 Sidechain,
and
Wideband AGC 2 Sidechain Audio
patch
points allow you to see the effect of the corresponding side chain parametric equalizers. This can be
useful when trying to filter out (or include) certain frequencies.
¸
The
Input AGC, Wideband AGC 1,
and
Wideband AGC 2 Output
patch points display the signal at
their respective outputs and after any sidechain equalization.
