AM MENU
♦
Flamethrower5B
is a loud preset with more mid-range presence than Eruption. It is suitable for most
music formats or for talk stations that are looking for more loudness very similar to Fire and Brimstone
and matches its loudness but with less mid-bass and less highs. It is the default preset.
♦
Gold5B
is a warm, open, smooth-sounding preset that works well with music from different decades. It
uses relatively slow multiband attack and release rates to provide gentle automatic spectral re-equaliza-
tion.
♦
Soapbox5B
is tuned especially for talk radio formats. It uses a loose multiband ratio to help preserve
the natural dynamics of speech and builds loudness in the final clipper. It also has a boost in the upper
frequencies to make speech more intelligible and uses higher gate and freeze thresholds to ensure pauses
during speech don’t cause unwanted noise rush-up.
Delete a Preset
Selecting the Delete Preset button allows you to permanently delete user-created presets. Factory presets cannot be
deleted.
Save Preset
The
Save Preset
menu allows you to edit the preset name of or save over an existing user preset.
The current preset, regardless of whether or not it has been modified, can be renamed by highlighting and
selecting the
Save Preset As
control which will bring up the on-screen keyboard. Rotating the controller clockwise
and counter-clockwise provides navigation through the keyboard; moving it to the right selects the highlighted
character. Select “OK” and then
Save
to save the preset with the new name.
If your Current Preset has been modified but not renamed, you can write over it by selecting the
Save
button.
If the name you wish to use already exists, you may select
Select From List
and choose it rather than retyping it.
We strongly recommend that after you’ve made some adjustments and are ready to save those changes to a Custom
Preset that you give it a unique name instead of saving directly over your current version. That way, should there
come a time when you want to revert back to a previous incarnation of a preset, you can do so, something you
cannot do if you continually save over the same preset throughout your adjustment process.
Keep in mind that you cannot give a Custom Preset the same name as an existing Factory Preset.
