AM MENU
Input Conditioning Menu
The
Input Conditioning
menu contains the controls for multiband
Noise Reduction Amount
and
Noise Reduction
Threshold.
♦
Omnia.7 features downward expanders in its multiband AGC stage to help control noise in the content
itself (for example, tape hiss present on an old recording) or environmental noise (such as HVAC noise
in the studio). The maximum amount of downward expansion is determined by the
Noise Reduction
Amount
control. The setting of the
Noise Reduction Threshold
control determines the point at which the
expanders begin to react.
♦
Note that the Phase Scrambler and Phase Rotation controls are now located in the System menu / AM
Options submenu. See Chapter 16 for details.
Enhance Menu
The
Enhance
menu contains controls that affect the spectral balance of the processed audio.
♦
The
Deep Bass
control simultaneously adjusts the lowest band of the parametric equalizer, the target level
of Band 1 in the multiband AGC, and the setting of Band 1 in the Band Mix Output control. In presets
with only 2 or 3 bands, only the parametric EQ is adjusted. Advancing the control increases the amount of
deep bass.
♦
The
Warmth
control works in the same manner as Deep Bass but operates on the mid-bass and low-mid
range of frequencies by adjusting the parametric equalizer. Additionally, it also adjusts the target setting
of Band 2 in the multiband AGC and output level of Band 2 in the Band Mix Output.
♦
The
Presence
control adjusts high-mid frequencies. Like the other Enhance controls, it adjusts the
parametric equalizer. Additionally, it also adjusts the multiband AGC target setting of Band 4 and the
output of Band 4 in the Band Mix Output.
♦
The
Brilliance
control adjusts high frequencies with the parametric equalizer. Additionally, it also adjusts
the target setting of the highest band of the multiband AGC along with the output level of the highest
band in the Band Mix Output.
