Viewing the Histogram
At times it may be useful to view the histogram of the preview image. A histogram
is the statistical representation of the densities in an image. This is accomplished by
clicking and holding the Histogram button in the Gamma Curve Editor dialog, shown
in Figure 16.17. As long as the button is held down, the histogram will be displayed. A
typical histogram is displayed in Figure 16.18.
This control is active when either a monochrome or color film type is selected in
the Scan dialog. The histogram is viewable only while the mouse button is held down.
