6.2 Addition of Disk Enclosure
CAUTION
 Store the product in an area where high temperature do not occur and the difference
between the high and low temperatures is not large. Do not store the product in a
place with high humidity and/or much dust.
 Note that foreign substances such as water and metal may not be entered into the
product during storage. Failure to follow it may cause device failure, electric shock,
and/or fire to occur.
 Store the product in the package during storage.
The disk array unit can contain up to 15 disk drives in standard mode.
To increase the capacity of the disk array unit, install an additional FC disk enclosure for adding disk
drives.

The NF1400-SR40E can contain up to three additional FC disk enclosures (NF1400-SE42E)
with which up to 60 FC disk drives can be installed.

Make backup copies of necessary data before you start installing an additional disk
enclosure. If a disk drive in the additional disk enclosure and a disk drive originally
installed in the disk array unit are assigned to the same logical disk, the previously
written data will be initialized.
