8.2 Indication at Occurrence of Fault
If the disk array unit is defected, the SERVICE LED on the disk array unit lights orange and also the
LED specific for each unit lights to indicate defected unit.
The table below shows the relation between the LED indicating the occurrence of a fault and the
defected unit.
LED display Defected unit
The Hard Disk FAULT LED on the disk drive
lights. The disk drive with the FAULT LED being on is
defected.
The FAULT LED on the controller lights
orange. The controller with the FAULT LED being on is
defected.
The POWER FAULT LED on the power
supply lights orange. The power supply with the POWER FAIL LED
being on or corresponding battery backup unit is
defected.
Identify the defected unit with WebSAM NEC
StorageManager.
The FAULT LED on the power control card
lights orange.
The power control card with the FAULT LED
being on is defected.
The SERVICE LED on the additional FC
disk enclosure lights orange and also the
FAULT LED on the disk drive lights orange. The disk drive with the FAULT LED being on is
defected.
The SERVICE LED on the additional FC
disk enclosure lights orange and also the
FAULT LED on the adapter lights orange. The adapter with the FAULT LED being on is
defected.
The SERVICE LED of the additional FC
disk enclosure lights orange and also the
POWER FAULT LED of the power supply
for the additional FC disk enclosure lights
orange. The power supply for the additional FC disk
enclosure with the POWER FAULT LED being
on is defected (including a cooling fan failure).
