Open the levers at the both ends of the connector for the DIMM to be removed.
The lock is released to allow the DIMM to be removed.
4.
Remove the DIMM.
5.
Remove the DIMM from the other DIMM connector making a pair.
6.
Make sure that the DIMM pairs are installed in ascendig order of pair numbers.
7.
Install the PCI board in the PCI board slot #1. See "PCI Board" described earlier.
8.
Assemble the workstation.
Install the components you have removed in Step 1.
9.
Turn on the power of the workstation. Make sure that no error message appears on the
POST screen.
See Chapter 8 for details of POST error messages.
10.
Run BIOS SETUP Utility and select [Advanced] - [Memory Configuration] - [Installed
memory] in the order to make sure that the total capacity of the installed DIMMs is
correctly indicated. See Chapter 4 for details.
IMPORTANT: The value shown in [Installed memory] may be smaller
than the actual physical memory capacity, depending on the
configuration of PCI board or others. The same value is also shown in
memory count during POST, BIOS SETUP Utility, and System
Information of OS.
11.
Run the BIOS SETUP Utility, and select [Advanced] - [Reset Configuration Data] - [Yes].
This is required to update the hardware configuration information. See Chapter 4 for
details.
12.
Set the paging file size to the recommended value or larger.
