Cleaning of DVD Super MULTI Drive

This section describes how to clean the lens of DVD Super MULTI drive.

IMPORTANT:

Do not touch the lens with your hand.

„

 

Do not use the commercial lens cleaner or the one provided with the
built-in H/H DVD Super MULTI drive.

Cleaning Frequency

Carry out the cleaning when read/write error occurs or dust adheres on the lens.

Cleaning Procedure

Take the following steps to clean the lens.

 

1. 

Make sure that the workstation is powered (the POWER/SLEEP lamp is lit).

Cleaning shall be carried out in normal operating status.

 

2. 

Make sure that the access lamp on the DVD Super MULTI drive goes off, and press the
eject button to draw the tray out.

 

3. 

If the disk is set on the tray, hold the tray with one hand, and lift the lid of disk lightly
with another hand while pressing the rotor of the tray.

IMPORTANT:

 Do not touch the signal side of the optical disk with

your hand.
