9.4 Operating conditions.
9.4.1 Power Capacity.
In the table below the full test durations of a Current Injection depending on the Power Range are listed, considering
the least favourable conditions.
Power Range
Test duration
4.000 A
2.50 Sec
8.000 A
3.10 Sec
12.000 A
4.00 Sec
16.000 A
3.00 Sec
20.000 A
1.80 Sec
NOTE :
The ideal duration of tests will correspond to the degree of consistency of the High-speed DC
Circuit Breaker. It is recommended to keep injections as short as possible to conserve battery energy.
Configuration.
The BALTO Modular System is configured and calibrated for a Current Range from 4,000 A up to 20,000 A. The
Power Range depends on the number of DC Current Generators used in the device (ranging from 1 to 5).
If the number of DC Current Generators deviates from the default configuration, warning messages are displayed.
System warnings.
Changes from the default factory configuration are displayed using the following dialogs.
Example:
NOTE :
It is not always necessary to connect all Power Units. The number of Power Units depends on the
required Current Injection to carry out the test.
By using all available Power Units, the full Current Injection range is available, which may be beneficial during some
test procedures.
