DANGER :
DANGER :
The High-speed DC Circuit breaker to be tested must be disconnected and switched
off from the mains network.
All safety precautions applicable to the low or high voltage installations must be followed.
Ensure that, in any case, the mains high voltage network (e.g. 3,000 VDC, 1,500 VDC) is never
connected to the test system
The procedures and risk mitigation, as specified by the applicable safety regulations by the company or test site, must
be followed at all times.
CAUTION : The High-speed DC Circuit Breaker must be in the open position.
Furthermore, to reduce impedance, please take the following into account:
The connection points must be clean.
Respect the + and – polarity with regards to the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker.
Measuring elements (e.g. shunts) that are not being tested should be excluded from the circuit.
NOTE :
Connecting the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker is to be done using the Power Flex-cables.
8.6 Assembly of the BALTO Modular on site
4. Put the Support Carriage in working position by applying the brakes and hence blocking the wheels. This
prevents the Support Carriage from moving abruptly during assembly.
5. The BALTO Modular System can be grounded using the grounding terminal, which is located on the Support
Carriage. Use the grounding cable included as a system accessory, or a properly rated equivalent cable.
6. Put the Control Unit on top of the Support Carriage and connect the 3 connectors from the Support Carriage to
the Control Unit.
7. Put the Work Surface Cover over the connectors.
8. Connect the BALTO System to mains power. Ensure that the mains voltage matches the mains voltage displayed
on the Support Carriage.
9. Switch on the main switch (red) on the Support Carriage, this will charge the battery compartment. The I/O
button on the Control Unit will be lit.
10. Before installing the DC Current Generators, make sure they are charged. Then insert them one by one into the
Support Carriage.
11. Connect the Power Flex-cables to the Current Generators as described above.
12. Connect the Power Flex-cables to the DC High Speed Circuit Breaker. Make sure the circuit breaker is in the
“Open” position.
13. Press the I/O button on the Control Unit, the BALTO Modular will start booting.
The BALTO Modular System 8,000 A / 12,000 A includes only two or three DC Current Generators slots (if no future
expansion is planned or desired).
The remaining space can be used to store the Power Flex-cables and system accessories.
