6 - 14 Testing

Issue 6 October 1998

2. Observe the amperes reading on the Output meter. Hold

the Rect Test switch in the NL position. The output
amperes should decrease.

3. Repeat from Step 1 and in Step 2 hold the Rect Test

switch in the FL position. The output current should
increase.

Rectifier Failure

Alarm/Fuse

Alarm Test (On

Line)

1. Insert a piece of bare wire or the end of a paper clip into a

pencil eraser. Holding the pencil, insert the wire next to the
alarm indicator of the +V fuse on the control panel. Note
that the rectifier shuts down and the RFA lamp on the
control panel lights.

2. Turn the Power switch Off, then back On. The RFA light

should go off.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 at the –V fuse.

Notes

This procedure causes the rectifier to fail. When the procedure
is performed on line, sufficient rectifiers must be operating to
assume the load of the rectifier being tested.

This test causes the rectifier to issue alarms to the plant
controller
