Determining the location and installation angles of the
transducer

The installation of the SN90 transducer requires careful planning and preparations. The
SN90 transducer is designed to be mounted inside a keel box or streamlined blister
under the vessel’s hull. It can also be mounted using a suitable hole in the hull plating.
Depending on the intended use of the SN90, the transducer must face forward or
sideways.

Prerequisites

In order to prepare the installation, and determine the location and installation angles
of the SN90 transducer, you will need:

• Relevant literature

• The vessel drawings

• Detailed information of other systems installed that may cause noise or interference

• Good knowledge about hydroacoustic systems and the challenges related to physical

installation of such systems
