Installing Internal Drives

3. Remove the cover plate from the target bay:

a. Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver under the side of the

cover plate.

b. Lift the cover plate and remove it from the server front

panel. (Save the cover plate for future use.)

4. Remove the screws that secure the tray (from both sides of the

tray housing) in the target bay, as shown in the figure on the
next page. Then, slide the tray out of the bay.

5. Install the appropriate drive:

If you are installing a 5.25-inch drive, go to step 11 on
page 179.

If you are installing a 3.5-inch drive, go to 6 on page 178.
