Step 12: Set detection criteria
After teaching the sample and dummy patterns, the detection criteria can be set. The detection criteria
consist of two items: the expected samples and the acceptance criteria.
Expected samples (R0): The number of samples expected when the box is full. The expected samples value
needs to be set in cell "R0" and has a default value of 30, which is also the maximum value.
Acceptance criteria (R1): The acceptance criterium is the minimum percentage of samples that need to be
detected in order to verify that the box is valid. The value can be set in cell "R1" and has a default value of 50%.
Step 13: Teach positions
If the detection criterium is determined, the pierce positions can be set. Teaching the pierce positions needs
to be done by using the PLC maintenance panel (see Chapter 12). It is recommended to position the pipetting
channels and the Z-axis at a low speed and acceleration and with small steps (1-10 mm).
Step 13.1: Home conveyor belt
The first step is to home the box conveyor belt, so that the current position of the belt will be set to 0, making
it easier to read the displacement of the belt during teaching. Press the "Home" button on the maintenance
panel to set the actual conveyor belt position to 0.
Step 13.2: Lower the Z-axis
The next step is to lower the Z-axis, so that the needles are slightly above the box of samples and the box
can move below the needles. Do not lower the Z-axis below 150 mm, otherwise the needles will not be
able to position. It is recommended to use low speed and acceleration/deceleration settings during Z-axis
movement (see figure below). Moving down the Z-axis should be done with small steps (1-10 mm).
