6.3. Initializing the Autosampler III
Before the Autosampler III can run in production mode, the Autosampler III needs to be initialized. The
initialization routine is a procedure carried out by the Autosampler III to make sure all electronic parts are
in a proper position and are ready to receive commands given by the Xperimate control software. As the
initialization routine requires movements to be carried out, the Autosampler III needs to be free from products,
dust and samples (spills).
In order to prepare the Autosampler III for initialization, the Autosampler III needs to be checked for
defects, plates, samples and remaining products. The following procedure must be followed to prepare the
Autosampler III for initialization:
6.3.1. Checklist prior to starting Autosampler III initialization
Before initializing the Autosampler III, check the following parts.
Opening the Autosampler III doors to perform the inspection:

Make sure all Emergency buttons are reset.
"Emergency" button pressed
"Emergency" button unpressed
(to reset turn counterclockwise)

Press the "Reset" button next to the control panel.
•
On the control panel, if not yet done, open the Xperimate control software.
•
On the interface press "Unlock Doors". if the Autosampler III was locked, a clicking sound is heard
from unlocking the locking pins. Also, the Autosampler III de-energizes by cutting the air supply and
disabling the automatically moving parts of the Autosampler III.
