NO TICE
Before capacity expansion, ensure that:
● The new UPS has the same software version as all running UPSs.
● The input and output cable connections and phase sequence of the new UPS
are correct. The mains input switch, bypass input switch, and output switch are
OFF.
● The parallel cable of the new UPS is not connected.
● Before connecting inter-rack parallel cables for the new UPS and the original
UPSs in the system, set parallel parameters and ensure that parallel IDs do not
conflict.
Step 1 Commission the new UPS by following the instructions in
. During the commissioning, do not switch on the external
output circuit breaker. After the commissioning is complete, the UPS shuts down
and transfers to bypass mode. Ensure that the external output circuit breaker is
OFF.
Step 2 Check that the bypass phase sequence of the new UPS and the original UPSs is
correct.
1. Ensure that no abnormal bypass alarm is generated on all the UPSs in the
system (including the new UPS). Then, the original UPSs and the new UPS
work in bypass mode.
2. Set the multimeter to the AC voltage position, connect the red probe to phase
A at the front end of the external output switch of the new UPS, and connect
the black probe to phase A at the back end of the external output switch of
the new UPS to measure the voltage difference. Perform the same operations
on phases B and C. If the phase sequence is correct and the voltage difference
is less than 5 V, perform the subsequent operations. If the phase sequence is
incorrect or the voltage difference for any phase is greater than 5 V, power off
the new UPS completely, and check whether the bypass input cable for the
UPS is properly connected.
Step 3 If the original system is a single UPS system, check whether the current version
supports a parallel system. If a parallel system is not supported, upgrade the
software to support the parallel system.
Step 4 Set parallel parameters for the original system.
●
If the original system is a single UPS system, see
.
●
If the original system is a parallel system, change the Requisite UPSs and
Redundant UPSs on each UPS of the original system so that the sum of
Requisite UPSs and Redundant UPSs is equal to the total number of original
parallel UPSs plus the number of new UPSs.
NO TE
The system may generate alarms such as Rack quantity mismatch, Insufficient
redundant racks, and Inter-rack par. cable alarm. The alarms are automatically cleared 1
minute after you connect all parallel cables.
Step 5 Set parallel parameters for the new UPS.
