Software prerequisites
The following prerequisites are required to use the Allocate Fabric Aware Volumes and Create Datastore
for ESX Cluster service template:
• Configuration Manager REST API v8.5.3 or later
• Brocade Network Advisor (BNA) 14.2 (SAN System Administrator or Zone Administrator role is
required)
• VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) v6.5, v6.5 U1/U2
• VMware vCenter v6.5, v6.5 U1/U2
• Python 3.5
The following libraries are required:

Setup prerequisites
Complete the following setup prerequisites if you have not already done so:
• Create an ESX cluster.
• Add ESX hosts to the ESX cluster.
• Create a datastore cluster.
• Create a storage pool.
• Properly connect the storage system and hosts in SAN and verify that they belong to the correct fabric.
• Configure a single Brocade Network Advisor to manage the fabric.
• Verify that the storage ports and HBA ports that are used by this service template belong to the fabric.
• When allocating volumes in VSM, add all required resources such as LDEV ID and host group ID to
the VSM resource group.
• Register the Configuration Manager REST API in Automation Director.
• Register the VMware vCenter Server in Automation Director.
• Register the Brocade Network Advisor in Automation Director.
• Register the storage system in Configuration Manager REST API.
• Storage DRS is disabled before using this service template. Adding a Datastore into a Datastore
cluster can fail when the Storage DRS is enabled.
