The
Trim
Sweep
A
djustment
procedure
applies
to
HP
8340,
and
only
to
measurements
made
in
the
Ramp
sweep
mode
.
Trim
Sweep
adjusts
the
end
frequency
at
band
switch
points
.
It
minimizes
the
frequency
dierence
between
the
end
frequency
of
one
band
and
the
start
frequency
of
the
next
band.
Trim
Sweep
is
considered
a
part
of
the
measurement
calibration
process
because
it
provides
most
improvement
when
it
is
accomplished
for
each
particular
frequency
range
.
The

is
saved
as
part
of
the
instrument
state
when
you

Procedure

o
adjust
trim
sweep
,
your
HP
8530A
system
must
be
setup
to
make
an
actual
ratioed
measurement.
The
setup
can
be
an
antenna
measurement,
RCS,
or
a
network
analyzer-type
setup
.
The
specic
type
of
setup
is
not
important,
as
long
as
it
is
a
ratioed
measurement
(two
inputs
are
in
use),
and
you
can
see
an
actual
measurement
trace
on
the
screen.
F
or
example
,
you
could
use
a
standard
antenna
measurement
setup
.
If
the
HP
8530A
is
not
currently
in
a
system,
place
a
splitter
on
the
output
of
the
RF
source
,
and
inject
the
two
signals
into
the
frequency
downconverter
.
NOTE:
In
an
RCS
system
you
should
place
a
reector
in
the
target
zone
.
