Message:

Fabric Controller database invalid.

Severity:

Minor.

Explanation:

Following an IML, or firmware download, the Fabric Controller database failed its CRC 
validation. All Fabric Controller databases are initialized to an empty state, resulting in a 
momentary loss of interswitch communication capability.

Action:

Perform the data collection procedure and return the Zip disk to Hewlett-Packard 
support personnel.

Severity:

Informational.

Explanation:

The fabric controller software detected that a path to another fabric element (Director or 
Edge Switch) traverses more than seven interswitch links (ISLs or hops). This may result 
in Fibre Channel frames persisting in the fabric longer than standard timeout values 
allow.

Action:

If possible, reconfigure the fabric so the path between any two Director or Edge Switch 
traverses no more than seven ISLs.

Event Data:

Byte 0 = domain ID of the fabric element (director or switch) more than seven hops 
away.
Bytes 1 - 3 = reserved.
