2.6 CD-1A Electronic Serial Number Reset
The CD-1A has an Electronic Serial number or ESN. If this has been set to something
other than the factory default value (this normally only happens if the CD-EYE
program has been used with the CD-1A), it must then be reset before the eCDi™ will be
able to communicate with the CD-1A. To reset the ESN, pull the exciter all the way out
on its rack slides. Open the exciter by pulling up on the top half of the exciter. Use the
prop arm to hold up the upper half of the exciter. Dipswitch S3-5 and S3-6 should be
placed in the OFF position. Then switch S3-5 to the ON position and then back to OFF.
Finally, press the reset button located on the same board as S3. The ESN is now reset
and the CD-1A should communicate with the eCDi™ . Dipswitch S3 is located near the
front of the exciter on the Corrector Controller board. See Figure 2-16 below for the
location of dipswitch S3.
NOTE:
For dual exciter systems, don’t forget to reset the second exciter as well.
