Operating limitations

Air pressure limit

WARNING

: Standard operating pressure of the NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit is 7 bar

(100 psi). Do not exceed 10 bar (145 psi). Regulate the air source to stay below this maximum.

Operating in cold environments

NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit operation is recommended at temperatures above 0° C
(32° F). The NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit may be used in colder climates. The system
has been operated in minus 5 Deg C in Europe with no adverse effects. To prevent freezing
it is recommended that the TankSafe™ product is kept in a warm place prior to use (heated
vehicle/office), wrap the container in bubble wrap or similar for insulation. Run the NV-ST-1000
TankSafe™ Delivery Unit without connection to a tank for ten minutes to allow the compressor
to warm up and also for the air to warm up in the lines this will have the effect of warming the
venturis and associated pipework. In extreme cold, freezing of the TankSafe™ product or water in
the air filters will cause improper operation and may cause damage the unit.

Operating in humid environments

For a given temperature, higher humidity will result in longer degassing times. Humid (>90% RH)
environments are especially challenging to operate in. These types of environments may result
in longer application times. This is due to slower vaporization of the TankSafe™ product droplets
under these conditions.

If raining, provide a rain shield or roof over the inlet of the NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit
so as not to draw excess water into the unit.

Operating in hot environments

The compressed air temperature should not exceed 60°C (140°F) at the inlet connections
on the NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit to avoid damage to the air filters. If the ambient
temperature exceeds 40°C (104°F), this temperature should be checked during operation.

System pressure drop

The following items should NOT be used to connect the NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit to
the tank:

•  Small diameter ducting or piping (< 100 mm (4").
•  Ducting with ridges, kinks, or sharp bends.
•  Small tank inlet and outlet with small piping attached < 100 mm (4").

Use of these items will cause significant pressure loss during the degassing process, resulting in
low total flow out of the NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit and poor performance. To avoid
this situation, follow the connection procedure to underground storage tanks described in this
manual.
