fuel. Simultaneously, the air stream delivering the TankSafe™ product to the tank purges out any
pre-existing vapors in the headspace. This process reduces the exposure time of personnel to a
hazardous environment and results in a gas-free tank. See Figure 6:

The NV-ST-1000 TankSafe™ Delivery Unit shown in Figure 6 regulates the flow rate of the
TankSafe™ product relative to the total air flow based on the air pressure supplied by an air
compressor. This ratio is automatically set once the compressed air is applied to the unit. This
is one of the unique features that make the unit easy to operate. Please keep in mind that this
ratio and the correct formation of the TankSafe™ product droplets is important to the process for
suppressing fuel vapors and should NOT be altered.

WARNING

: Only NanoVapor™ equipment should be used to apply the TankSafe™ product

to the tank to ensure proper application. Use of non-NanoVapor™ equipment could result in
unsafe tank conditions. Moreover, the TankSafe™ product has been designed to form a barrier on
evaporating surfaces and as such should NOT be altered prior to use.

WARNING

: Only NanoVapor™-approved products should be applied with NanoVapor™

equipment. Application of any other products could result in potentially unsafe conditions and
may cause damage to the unit.

The TankSafe™ product is continuously applied until an acceptable vapor concentration level is
measured. Your employer and their technical procedures will define this level and the method
and location of the measurement. Once the degassing process is complete, the operator’s
normal maintenance procedures should be followed to monitor the tank and continue with the
planned work.
