3.9. SOUNDER OUTPUT
The MAIN BOARD has two sounder outputs. The sounder circuits are
designed to operate with an end-of-line resistor (by default).
3.9.1.
Connecting a polarised sounder
To connect a polarised sounder, carry out the following steps:
1.
Locate the SND1 and SND2 connectors on the main board (see
section 3.4).
2.
Connect the + and - cables to the corresponding terminal on the
MAIN BOARD.
3.
Connect the sounders in parallel with the + and - cables of the
main line.
4.
Close the loop of 4k7 Ohms between the + and - cable at the end
of the main line.
Do not forget to ALWAYS place the 4k7 ohm resistor at the end of
the wiring to close the loop.
3.9.2.
Connecting a NON-polarised sounder
If you are going to install non-polarised sounders, you must place a
diode in each of the sounders in order to prevent them from sounding
when the system is in standby.
To connect a polarised sounder, carry out the following steps, proceeding
as in section 3.7.3 until step 2:

Connect a 1N4007-type diode to the + terminal of each of the
sounders as shown in the drawing below.
4.
Connect the sounders in parallel to the main line.
5.
Close the loop of 4k7 Ohms between the + and - cable at the end
of the main line.
Each output is protected with a 500 mA fuse, see section 3.4.
