11 Setting areas
If you have decided on the Motion Detection recording mode in
the sub-dialog of Camera Settings, you should set the active areas
for motion detection in the Areas dialog.
This dialog is accessed via:
Setup > Recording > VMD Areas
With recording via motion detection, pictures are only recorded if a
change in the picture within the active area is detected. The entire
picture area is active in the basic configuration. In day-to-day use,
however, it makes sense to use only certain areas of the picture for
the picture comparison.
All area settings must be made individually for all considered
cameras.

If you click the button with the camera symbol (A), the list of
active cameras is updated.
11.1 Inactive picture areas

First click the camera whose pictures are to be recorded via
motion detection and for which you would like to make settings.
A digitized picture appears in the picture window as it is at the
time of selection.
