8.3 Using a database
A feature of the camera settings is the use of a database. The
database makes searching for pictures very effective.
What does the database do?
Data is written to the so-called "header" of each recorded picture.
This data includes the date, time, camera and other information.
The information leading to recording for motion detection is also
contained in this header.
As the information in the header and picture are recorded serially,
i.e. header1 – picture1, header2 – picture2 etc., searches are also
performed based on this model.
A picture search without a database entry
occurs following the same model here. The
search requires more effort due to the
picture data between the headers and
requires more time accordingly.
When using the database, the information of the individual headers
is written to this database using the header1 – header2 – header3
etc. model.
A picture search using the database is thus more effective and
faster, as the individual headers can be searched one after another.
