1. Check the equipment carefully.
Make sure that all components are clean and free of debris (i.e., the tank, pump, control valves, hoses, booms,
strainers, nozzles and spray tips. See section 3.10 for flushing instructions).
2. When making initial adjustments on the sprayer, put approximately 450 litres (100 gallons) of water in the
sprayer tank. If possible, use a nurse tank pump when initially adding water to the tank.
3. Allow the tractor hydraulic oil to circulate until it is adequately warmed. Do not run the sprayer pump at this
time.
4. Open the tank shutoff valve and the pump shutoff valve. Close all other valves completely. See Fig. 4.3.
5. Prime the pump by opening the drain valve at the top of the volute casing until water flows out. Close the
drain valve.
6. Refer to the following four pages for setting the hydraulic pump’s shutoff pressure. This pressure for the Ace
206 pump is 120 psi and the 310 pump is 80 psi. The pressure for both Hypro pumps is 120 psi.
