7.6 SPRAYER MECHANICAL PROBLEMS
Problem
Main tank does not empty totally.
Outer boom is not inline with the Inner
Boom.
Boom Tip is not inline with the Outer
Boom.
Boom Tip does not breakaway.
100’ Boom Tip does not fold or unfold
correctly.
Wing Booms are not inline with the
Centre Boom when folded into field
position.
Sprayer is unstable when turning
corners or on hill sides.
Possible Causes
Sprayer hitch is not adjusted to match
the tractor.
Outer Boom Adjustment Bolt is not
correct.
Boom Tip Adjustment Bolt is not
correct.
Boom Tip Transport Lock is not moving
into field position.
Boom Selector Valve is not adjusted
correctly.
Boom Micro Switch is out of
adjustment.
Sprayer wheel tracking is too narrow.
Possible Solutions
Level the sprayer frame using the
implement jack and adjust the hitch to
match the tractor. See Section 6.1.
Adjust the Outer Boom Adjustment
Bolt until the booms are inline. See
Section 6.2 and 6.3.
Adjust the Boom Tip Adjustment Bolt
until the booms are inline. See Section
6.4.
Adjust the Transport Lock so it
unlatches by itself when the booms are
rotated into field position. See Section
6.5 and 6.6.
Adjust the Selector Valve as shown in
Section 6.7.
Readjust the Boom Micro Switch.
See Section 6.8.
Adjust the Axle Stubs to have a wider
wheel track. See Section 6.9.
Problem
Outer Booms are unfolding very fast
and folding very slow.
On 100’ Booms, the Boom Tip rotates
from transport to field position very
fast.
Sprayer with Suspension is constantly
changing ride height as the machine
is travelling down the field.
Possible Causes
The One Way Restrictor Valve in the
rod end of the Outer Fold Cylinder is
installed backwards.
The Tee fitting on the Outer Boom Fold
Cylinders has been installed in the
wrong place.
Micro Switches are set too sensitive.
Possible Solutions
The arrow on the restrictor valve must
be pointing toward the rod end of the
cylinder. See Section 6.11.
The Tee fitting must installed between
the elbow in the cylinder and the
restrictor fitting in the hose. See
Section 6.12.
Micro Switches must be adjusted to
make them less sensitive. See Section
6.14.
