7.3 CONTROL BOX, REGULATOR VALVE AND ELECTRIC BALL VALVES
IMPORT ANT:
The Control Unit is designed for use on 12 volt systems only. Damage may result if the unit is
connected to a voltage greater than 18 volts. Under no circumstances should a fuse larger than 15 amps be
installed as damage to the control unit and/or wiring may result.
Problem
Blown fuses.
No power - boom switches do not
illuminate when turned on.
Pressure reading inaccurate.
Electric ball valves will not open.
Possible Causes
Short circuit in wires leading to
electric ball valves or regulator
valve.
Short circuit within electric ball valve
valves or regulator valve.
Master switch turned OFF.
Power cable polarity reversed or
disconnected.
Blown fuse.
Corroded connections.
Pressure line leaking, kinked or
damaged.
Pressure gauge faulty.
Corroded connections.
Valves disconnected from power
Valves are improperly wired.
Possible Solutions
Inspect wires for worn insulation
and check connections.
Turn power off. Remove connections
to electric ball valves and regulator
valve. Activate switch, making sure
connections don’t touch or ground out.
If fuse doesn’t blow, locate faulty
component and replace with a new
one.
Turn the master switch ON.
Check battery connections, red or
white to +12 V positive, black to -12
V negative, yellow to headlight system.
Check the fuse located at the rear of
the control unit. If the fuse is burned
out, check the wiring for shorts and
repair any damage before replacing
the fuse. For the 3-Switch unit, the
fuse size is 15 amp, the 6-Switch unit
is 20 amp.
Inspect and clean all connections.
Check and repair leaks or damaged
lines.
Check pressure readings with a second
gauge at the electric ball valves (or a
clip-on gauge at the nozzles) to verify
pressure. Replace gauge if necessary.
Inspect all connections and clean if
necessary.
Check to ensure that valves are
properly connected to the power
supply.
Check wiring diagrams, to ensure that
valves are wired correctly.
