Although there are no operational restrictions on the sprayer when used for the first time, it is recommended that
the following mechanical items be checked:
Pre-Start Flushing
This procedure must be done before installing the screens and tips on the boom, to remove all contaminants from
the system before starting. Filings, dirt and other debris can enter the tank and booms during the manufacturing,
transporting and assembling phases.
Remove with this procedure:
1. Tank:
Remove the clamp holding the main suction hose to the
tank sump. See Fig. 3.34. Use a water hose or pressure
washer to rinse the inside of the tank and flush everything
out the bottom. Also rinse the Mix and Fill tank and the
Chem Wash tank.
2. Booms:
After the tank has been flushed out, add 100 gal (450
1) of clean water to the tank. Open the Main Tank Ball
Valve and the Pump Shut Off valve. Prime the Hydraulic
Pump by opening the upper drain cock, until a strong stream of water flows out. Close the drain cock and start the
pump to circulate the water through the system. Open the ball valves on the end of each spray pipe (or remove the
caps), turn all boom controls ON and flush all the water out the spray pipes to clean the plumbing and the spray
pipes. Stop the pump as soon as the water stops flowing out of the spray pipes to prevent damaging the pump
seals. Close the spray pipe valves (or replace the caps). Install and secure the tips and screens in the nozzles on the
spray pipes.
