bus Multiconductor electrical path used to transfer information
over a common connection from any of several sources to
any of several destinations.
button Key on the face of a telephone that is used to access a
line, activate a feature, or enter a code on a
communications system.
byte Sequence of bit s (usually eight) processed together. Also
called “octet.”

CCS
(common-channel signaling) Signaling in which one
channel of a group of channels carries signaling
information for each of the remaining channels, permitting
each of the remaining channels to be used to nearly full
capacity. In the system’s 100D module, channel 24 can be
designated as the signaling channel for channels 1–23.
