Large Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 Routing mode - Optimizes
AT-SBx81XLEM Line Cards for remote Layer 3 subnets.
Large Layer 3 Host mode - Optimizes AT-SBx81XLEM Line Cards
for local Layer 3 hosts.
Here are the guidelines for the large address table modes:
The large table modes are supported only when the AT-SBx8106
Chassis has AT-SBx81XLEM Line Cards. The large table modes
are not supported with any of the other SwitchBlade x8100
Ethernet line cards.
You have to specify the silicon profile “profile3” for the chassis with
the PLATFORM SILICON-PROFILE command in the AlliedWare
Plus operating system.
Caution
Profile3 is only compatible with AT-SBx81XLEM Line Cards. Do not
activate the profile if the chassis contains other models of
SwitchBlade x8100 Ethernet line cards.
Only one large table mode can be active at a time in a chassis.
The large table mode is set at the chassis level. All AT-
SBx81XLEM Line Cards in the chassis use the same table mode
setting.
The SFP+ slots on the front panel of the AT-SBx81CFC960
Controller Fabric Card cannot be used for regular network traffic
when silicon profile Profile3 is active. They must be unused or
used for the trunk in a VCStack Plus. The AlliedWare Plus
operating system disables the SFP+ slots for regular network
traffic when you designate “profile3” as the silicon profile for the
chassis.
The large address table modes require AlliedWare Plus v5.4.6.1-1
or later.
Using the large table modes is optional.
The large table modes require the AT-SBx81CFC960 Controller
Fabric Card. The AT-SBx81CFC400 Controller Fabric Card does
not support the large table modes.
For descriptions of the large table modes and how to activate them, refer
to “Command Reference: SwitchBlade x8100 Series Switches running
AlliedWare Plus Version 5.4.6-1.x.”
LEDs
Each SFP slot on the AT-SBx81XLEM Line Card has one LED. The LED
is shown in Figure 26 on page 55 and described in Table 13 on page 55.
