3. Configure the VT-100 terminal or terminal emulation program as

follows:



Baud rate: 115,200 bps



Data bits: 8



Parity: None



Stop bits: 1



Flow controller: None

Note

The port settings are for a DEC VT100 or ANSI terminal, or an
equivalent terminal emulator program.

4. Press Enter. You are prompted for a user name and password.

5. Enter the default user name and password. They are “manager” and

“friend” (without the quotes), respectively

Note

User names and passwords are case sensitive.

The local management session starts and the switch displays the
prompt for the User Exec mode, “awplus>”.

Verifying the

Chassis with the

AlliedWare Plus

Commands

To confirm the operations of the chassis with the commands in the
AlliedWare Plus Operating System, perform the following procedure:

1. Enter the SHOW VERSION command in the User Exec or Privileged

Exec mode to display the software version number of the AlliedWare
Plus Operating System on the controller card, as shown in Figure 154.
