Section II: Installing the Chassis

Installing AT-QSFPSR or AT-QSFPLR4 Transceivers

This section contains the procedure for installing AT-QSFPSR or AT-
QSFPLR4 transceivers in the slots on the AT-SBx81XLEM/Q2 Expansion
Module.

Note

The AT-QSFPSR and AT-QSFPLR4 transceivers are only
supported in the AT-SBx81XLEM/Q2 Expansion Module.

Please review “Guidelines to Installing SFP, SFP+, and QSFP+
Transceivers” on page 171 before performing this procedure.

To install AT-QSFPSR or AT-QSFPLR4 transceivers, perform the
following procedure:

1. Remove the dust cover from a slot on the AT-SBx81XLEM/Q2

Expansion Module. Refer to Figure 107 on page 180.

2. Slide a transceiver into the slot until it clicks into place.

3. Attach fiber optic cable to the transceiver.

4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to install and cable transceivers in the other

switches of the stack.

5. Connect the cables to compatible QSFP ports in other network

devices.

Note

To remove the connector and cable from the slot, gently push on the
connector, pull on the release tab, and slide the connector from the
slot.

6. After installing the transceivers, do one of the following:



To install and cable additional transceivers in the Ethernet line
cards, go to the appropriate section in this chapter for instructions.



To cable the ports on the controller card, go to Chapter 9, “Cabling
the AT-SBx81CFC960 Controller Fabric Card” on page 183.



After cabling all the ports in the chassis, go to Chapter 10,
“Powering On the Chassis” on page 193.
