Installing AT-SP10TW Direct Connect Cables

This procedure explains how to connect AT-SP10TW direct connect
Twinax cables to the SFP+ slots in the following line cards and expansion
module:



AT-SBx81XS6 Line Card



AT-SBx81XS16 Line Card



AT-SBx81XLEM/XS8 Expansion Module

The cables may be used in place of fiber optic cables and transceivers for
10 Gbps links of up to 7 meters.

Note

The AT-SP10TW Cables are not supported in the AT-SBx81GS24a
Line Card or slots 1 to 12 in the AT-SBx81XLEM Line Card.

Please review “Guidelines to Installing SFP, SFP+, and QSFP+
Transceivers” on page 171 before performing this procedure.

The illustrations in the procedure show the AT-SBx81XS16 Line Cards.
The procedure is the same for all the devices.

To install AT-SP10TW Cables, perform the following procedure:

1. Remove the dust plug from one of the SFP+ slots. You may install AT-

SP10TW Cables in any of the slots on the line card or expansion
module. Refer to Figure 104.
