The dbf and shp files of a prescription are automatically generated with GIS software
appropriated for agricultural studies.
Note that these files have the name in a 8.3 format (8 letters for the file’s name and 3
letters for the SHP or DBF extension).
The shp file can contain 100 areas as maximum and its size doesn’t have to be higher
than 250Kg.
The dbf file can contain only three numerical attributes (Fig. 22b) ordered in the following
way:
•
Fert L (First attribute)
•
Fert A (Second attribute)
•
Seeds (Third attribute)
Every field has to be present, even though when one of these products is not being
controlled, with zero value for example.
11.3.2. Automatic Variable Rate Mode
Select “Automatic Rate” option in “DISPENSER” menu to initiate this mode. Then, the prescription selection
will be displayed (
Figure 23
). This selection shows a list of all valid prescriptions onto the SD memory card.
MAIN MENU > VARIABLE RATE > AUTOMATIC RATE
Figure 23. Prescription selection. When Automatic rate mode initiates a prescription rate has to be selected and this one
will be loaded onto the computer from the SD memory card.
When a prescription is selected, the computer will process it and determines which zone belongs to each plot’
sector and the rate that has to be applied on them. Once the prescription is loaded on the computer, it will be
displayed in the main job screen when the “Map” tab is selected.
