How to optimize the detector

Set peakwidth as close as possible to the width (at half height) of a
narrow peak of interest. Refer to
“Peakwidth Settings” on page 71.

Choose the sample wavelength
• at a longer wavelength than the cut- off wavelength of the mobile
phase,
•
at a wavelength where the analytes have strong absorptivity if you
want to get the lowest possible detection limit,
•
at a wavelength with moderate absorptivity if you work with high
concentrations, and
• preferably where the spectrum is flat for better linearity.
