As the waste toner cartridge is part of the drum cartridge, it is replaced when you install a
new drum cartridge, but it can also be replaced separately. If the waste toner cartridge
becomes full before the drum cartridge needs to be replaced, the printer display panel will
show "Replace waste toner cartridge".
When this happens, follow the procedure below to replace the waste toner cartridge.
6.3.1 Handling Precautions for Waste Toner Cartridge
Never throw used waste toner cartridge into an open flame. It can
cause an explosion and you can get burnt.
Handling Precautions

Toner collected in the waste toner cartridge should not be reused.
•
Once a full toner collection cartridge has been removed from the printer, it should not be
used again. If it is placed in the printer again, the toner may spill inside the printer and
cause damage.
•
Do not tilt or shake drum cartridges and toner collection cartridges that have been
removed from the printer temporarily. Otherwise, toner may spill and cause damage
when it is reinstalled.
