Suggested solutions
When using the Binder 120 with a
Xerox 5800, 5890 or 5895, undesired
signals are sent to the Binder 120
during a reset of the host machine.
The reset created a fault in the
Binder 120.
Immediately after a host machine
reset, check the Control Panel of the
Binder 120. If it indicates a fault,
clear the fault as required by the
Binder 120.
For the Xerox 5800, 5890 or 5895,
the Finishing Accessories
Enabled/Disabled buttons are not
available on the host machine User
Interface screen.
Collated or Uncollated is not
selected on the host machine.
The Binder 120 is not connected to
the host machine or the power is off.
Select Collated or Uncollated on the
host machine.
Check the connection between the
Binder 120 and the host machine or
check to see that the power is on.
Frequent misfeeds in the
4a
area.
The covers may be stuck together
because the cover cassette is
damaged and/or the covers have
become deformed due to improper
storage.
Clear the jam as directed in the
“Locating and clearing a jam” section
of this chapter.
Check the cover cassette for
damage that may be causing the
covers to feed improperly.
Ensure that the cover cassettes are
being stored as directed in chapter
6, “Care.”
Binder 120 stops processing.
Front door(s) of the Binder 120 are
open.
Interface Module door is open.
Close the door(s) of the Binder 120.
Close the Interface Module door.
A book jams when manually fed into
the Binder 120 for re-binding.
The book has curled.
Clear the jam as directed in the
“Locating and clearing a jam” section
of this chapter. Then insert the book
into the Manual Feeder so that the
spine of the book faces downward
and the cover of the book faces the
left side of the Binder 120.
NOTE:
This book placement differs
from the instructions provided in
chapter 4, “Making the books.”
Follow this procedure for resolution
of this problem only.
