XEROX DOCUMENT BINDER 120 OPERATOR MANUAL

Problem-solving table
The table below lists some conditions that may occur during the
operation of the Binder 120. You can resolve the problems without
calling for service by following the suggested solutions in the table.
For problems with the host machine beyond the scope of this table,
refer to the operator manual for the host machine. For problems with
the Binder 120 beyond the scope of this table, call for service.
Condition
Causes
Suggested solutions
Binder 120 is not on.
No power to the Binder 120.
The Binder 120 GFI has activated.
Check that the Binder 120 Power
Cord is connected to the Binder 120
and the wall receptacle.
Check that the Binder 120 Power
Switch is in the On (
I
) position.
Check the GFI as described in the
“Resetting the Ground Fault
Interrupter” section of this chapter.
Energy Saver indicator is lit.
The Energy Saver button has been
pressed to activate this mode or the
Binder 120 has been idle for the
period of time specified for this
mode.
Press the Energy Saver button to
exit Energy Saver mode. Wait for
the Binder 120 to warm up. See
chapter 5, “Customizing your Binder
120,” for more information about
Energy Saver mode.
Lights are lit on the Mimic Display of
the Binder 120 Control Panel.
A jam has occurred in the Binder
120.
The indicated Cover Tray is empty.
Clear the jam as directed in the
“Locating and clearing a jam” section
of this chapter.
Load the Cover Tray as directed in
chapter 4, “Making the books.”
Copy sets do not feed from the host
machine.
The Receiving Plate is not in on-line
position.
The Interface Cable is not connected
or is not connected properly.
Collated or Uncollated is not
selected on the host machine.
Extend the Receiving Plate and
lower it onto the Output Tray of the
host machine.
Connect the Interface Cable to the
Binder 120 and the host machine or
check that the Interface Cable is
connected properly.
Select Collated or Uncollated on the
host machine.
