3) Put a wooden underlay in position on the
device (94118F, Fig. 6 ). This will prevent
damage to the top bearing shell and the
seating surfaces of the bearing cover.
4) Operate the manual ratchet (H2) to
lower the bearing cover (1) on to the
wooden underlay.
5) Remove the manual ratchet (H2) from
the bearing cover.
6) Pull the bearing cover (and wooden
underlay) along the device (94118F) to
the fuel side.
7) Move the bearing cover on to the floor
plate.
8) Connect the HP hoses (94935, Fig. 4 ) to
the connection (1) on the hydraulic ram
(2) and the HP oil pump (94931).
9) Refer to 9403 − 2 to connect the HP hose
(94935) and the pressure gauge.
10) Operate the the HP oil pump (94110) to
get a pressure of 1530 bar.
11) Loosen the special screw (7) to unlock
the piston (6).
12) On the HP oil pump, operate the relief
valve to release the pressure.
13) Disconnect the HP hose from the
connection (1) on the hydraulic ram (2).
14) Push the piston (6) fully in and remove
the thrust device (94110).
15) Remove the two Allen screws from the
bearing cover.
16) Remove the top bearing shell from the
bearing cover.
