A subnet is identified by a network IP address and a subnet mask, so both parameters
must be specified. By default, we’ll use the Host’s subnet mask since it’s most likely in
enterprise environments that different subnets will still have the same mask. However,
the option to provide some other subnet mask is provided.

The software will validate the subnet to make sure it is not the same as the host’s subnet.
Connecting Manually
If the device cannot be discovered through the automatic discovery mechanisms, you can
discover it directly if you know its IP address. The SierraNet M408 IP address must be
added manually. Perform the following steps:
1. Launch the application and click the Ethernet radio button.
2. Click OK .
3. Click Add Device in the Select Device dialog.
4. The Add Device with Static IP displays. Enter the IP address to add the device.
