Upgrading the Software
5. Issue the following TL1 command to check the status of the upgrade:
RTRV-NTP-INFO:[<tid>]:<aid>:[<ctag>]::DWNLD;
for example:
RTRV-NTP-INFO::S0-OUT4B:user1::DWNLD;
where:
–
S0-OUT4B
is the <aid> of the standby NTP card being upgraded
–
user1
is the <ctag>
–
DWNLD
is the keyword for Download
If the response message shows that the upgrade process has failed, see
Upgrade Status Messages and Troubleshooting
, on page 262. If the response
message is “Upgrade completed successfully, continue at step 6.
6. Issue the following TL1 command to reboot the NTP Server card:
ED-EQPT:[<tid>]:<aid>:[<ctag>]:::NTPSLOT=REBOOT;
for example:
ED-EQPT::S0-OUT4B:user1:::NTPSLOT=REBOOT;
7. When the Standby NTP Server card has rebooted, issue the
RTRV-NETYPE-ALL
command to check that the version information and hardware setup are correct
for the Standby NTP Server card.
8. Issue the following TL1 command to switch the Standby NTP Server card to the
Active card:
ED-EQPT:[<tid>]:<aid>:[<ctag>]:::NTPSLOT=ACT;
for example:
ED-EQPT::S0-OUT4B:user1:::NTPSLOT=ACT;
9. When the switch is complete, issue the following TL1 command for both Active
and Standby NTP Server cards to verify that the upgraded card is the Active
card:
RTRV-NTP-INFO:[<tid>]:<aid>:[<ctag>]::REDUND;
for example:
RTRV-NTP-INFO::S0-OUT4B:user1::REDUND;
RTRV-NTP-INFO::S0-OUT3B:user1::REDUND;
